Every good director needs a clapperboard!

I know what you’re thinking… “what’s the point of a clapperboard?” Well, you would be surprised just how useful this tool, also known as a slate, is to the post-production team. During a professional film shoot, it is common practice to record the sound and video separately. When it comes time for the editing team to do their magic, they need to sync both of these files together. This is where the clapperboard becomes useful! The distinct sound that the clapper makes allows the editor to easily synchronize the sound recording with the video recording, because the action is accompanied by a spike in the audio levels. I know it sounds minimal; but when it comes down to it, the clapperboard will save you a lot of time and frustration!
